Our Programs
CEC offers five separate home-based rooms where children can explore and learn according to their individual level of maturity. These five programs include:
Infants (6 weeks - 15 months): 1 teacher to 3 children
Toddlers (15 months to 2 years): 1 teacher to 4 children
Twos (2 years to 3 years): 1 teacher to 5 children
Preschool (3 years to 4 years): 1 teacher to 7 children
Pre-K (4 years to Kindergarten or 1st grade entry): 1 teacher to 8 children
Starting in the infant room, each program aims to foster a positive self-image in growing children as they learn about themselves and how to use their strengths to build self-confidence. We place students with their peers, gradually transitioning them into the next program as they grow.
At CEC we see learning as a continual process rather than broken into discrete levels. Children in all programs are exposed to rich and varied developmentally appropriate experiences that include art, music, nature studies, neighborhood walks, field trips, and computer exposure. As they progress through CEC’s programs, we provide enrichment programs including swimming, dance, cooking, and drama that help prepare children for kindergarten.
Our teachers, many of whom have at least five years of experience, focus on encouraging and praising independence, while ensuring that each child’s need for comfort and personal attention is recognized. CEC's high teacher-to-child ratios makes it possible for our teachers to provide highly personalized care and a loving, supportive atmosphere that fosters growth in self-help, competence, and creativity.
Enrollment in CEC includes diapers and two nutritious snacks per day for children in the Toddler programs and beyond.
